Site analysis

A large vacant site in a prominent location

From the local plan and discussions - an obvious demand for parking and housing. Maybe some shops and other secondary amenities

What will fit on this site without dominating the town centre or overshadowing Middle Street?

Our idea is that the area immediately north of the site becomes Brixham’s "Arts Quarter" with small shops, galleries and boutique outlets within the existing lanes

Similarly the southern area to be enhanced as a "full transport hub" for taxis, buses, bikes and all other forms of sustainable public transport

The site is around 150 metres long
And is clearly the symbolic town "heart" of Brixham

Vix writes “The car park gives a poor impression.
For almost two decades it’s been an eyesore and a hole-in-the-heart of Brixham

“What a lost opportunity. Now is the chance for the town and the bay to grasp the nettle and transform it with a spectacular, even iconic scheme

"A green-heart for Brixham to complement the already stunning Harbour

"Wow!   Well, what are we waiting for?”
