Brixham Central Car Park Site
History

2012. Nine years ago a large Tesco supermarket was planned for the site. Tesco subsequently pulled out.

2018. Brixham neighbourhood plan showed a “mixed use and small scale development” for the site including houses, retail, and other uses.

2019. A housing proposal was developed by Torbay Development Agency. 70 residences (flats) designed in “town-house style” and an estimated 150 car parking spaces.

Recently ... The TDA has been awarded Local Government funding of £675,000 for up to 70 town centre “affordable homes” on this site. The funding is only to be used, in principle, for the groundworks, highways and site infrastructure. So this funding is for “enabling groundworks” for a currently unconfirmed scheme, which may, or may not, resemble the above.

Neil says, “It is against this background, and after seeing this key site largely vacant for over seventeen years, and in need of a fresh injection of ideas that we came up with our concept

'The Hanging Gardens of Brixham'

This is our big idea

It will only happen with the enthusiastic support of our amazing landowners the TDA acting on behalf of Torbay residents, and the passionate support of the Brixham community
